| Wolves pose no physical threat to man; nevertheless, irresponsible land owners and government paid hunters nearly eliminated them from the American landscape in the past. Their elimination resulted in an unbalanced ecosystem. Today environmental groups have been successful at reintroducing the wolves into Yellowstone National Park. Population Count: I980 -1; 1999 - 325. |

We have seen other ethnic groups around the world are willing and want to learn. Open minds attempt to understand the American Indian values; traditional values which too often are not fully recognized or appreciated. Many of The Miami Valley Council's events and programs share such information. In turn this enriches the global community, while it promotes cultural appreciation and cultural diversity.
We
are pleased that our community has welcomed The Miami Valley Council for
Native Americans. As our programs and services expand, it is our
hope that organizations, businesses, corporations, private foundations,
and government agencies will continue to welcome and support the Council's
efforts.

In
1989 The Miami Valley Council for Native Americans was founded and incorporated.
This occurred after Native American friends in the Dayton, OH area had
been meeting for several years. The MVCNA is no longer a non-profit, tax-exempt,
